Hiking In The Virginia Range

25 10 2010

I went for a fantastic hike this past week, in search of a funky red hill that I chanced upon on a Google Maps aerial photo.

The hike was wonderful. I lugged 4 liters of water, enough for a good day’s trek in the desert, with some extra water for cooking lunch at the mystery hill. Aside from reaching my destination and checking the place out, the coolest part of the walk in was coming across one of the Virginia Range’s reasonably well-known wild mustangs. But first… a spot the RV contest!

A great hike. (I left Ayo by the start of the dirt road. She wanted to get some work done and I wanted to go hiking. Two thumbs up for mobile hotspot and super-fast wireless just about anywhere. The last photo above is her workspace. Sure beats a cubicle.)
