Joy and Dancing

30 10 2011

There has been a lot of joy going around lately. Two examples that come to mind each involve dancing and singing. The first is the celebration of Simchat Torah at Temple Beth Israel in Eugene, which involved hours of celebration marking the conclusion of the annual cycle of public Torah readings. The second was dancing at Eugene’s Saturday Market, where Ayo and I danced some serious swing and we met John, Eugene’s “Old Man Dancing.” He shared with us a great quote about dance (video above).

I really enjoyed seeing how lively Simchat Torah was at TBI with designated hakafot by age range, and Jon is the one who told me to check out Eugene’s Sunday morning ecstatic dance gathering, which was indeed ecstatic. Yes for joy and yes for dancing. 🙂
