We met Ari at Cafe Gratitude this past week. A bit new-agey, she suggested that we attend “Soul Sanctuary Dance” on Sunday. While I’m decidedly not new-agey, I’ve had good experiences at freestyle dances in the past. Ayo and I both decided to attend. We also invited our friend Dan who we had met at a house party on Friday night.
We thought that Dan might take a bit of warming up to get into the spirit of “do whatever your body feels like doing” dance, but within minutes of our arriving we were all dancing it up.
An hour and a half later the dance was over and a contingent of ~10 dancers went to a “pay it forward” restaurant called Karma Kitchen. While the food was great, the seating didn’t work out ideally and Ayo ended up at a table that was not only separate from me and Dan, but also somehow got overlooked by the volunteer servers for over a 1/2 hour.
We spent the late afternoon and early evening hanging out at Dan’s place, chatting, playing guitar, and getting introduced to Flight of the Conchords.
A brief but thorough feeding of Ayo that night concluded our stay in the Bay Area. We woke up on Monday, and after a leisurely breakfast turned on the house and headed south toward some climbing and Los Altos Hills, where we are being hosted for the week with electricity and wicked wireless.
