New Year’s With Friends in San Diego

2 01 2012

Our first week in San Diego has been wonderful with clear and sunny afternoons, visits to the Beach and – best of all – an unreal New Year’s Eve scavenger hunt with fellow friends and travelers Matt and Bree, Nina and Paul, Brent and Christine, Captain Ruthie and Bree’s work BFF Mel.

San Diego Has GORGEOUS Beaches

San Diego Has GORGEOUS Beaches

The scavenger hunt took us through neighborhoods all around San Diego in search of Someone Getting Arrested, A Woman With A Shaved Head and A Team Member Riding A Mechanical Bull amongst other categories.  The hunt was super high-tech with the use of a free scavenger hunt phone app to track other teams’ progress.  Each of the thirty or so items was valued at a certain number of points, and the points went to the team with the best and most creative photos.

It was a great post-dinner bonding experience and we all met up before the stroke of midnight to share photos, determine the winning team and have an official New Year’s countdown complete with champagne, sparkling apple cider, noise blowers and confetti.  Props to Bree for organizing and – as all eight RVers will be in SD for the next few weeks – we’re hoping for an encore celebration!
