A Note From Ayo:  I snuck this in, but today is Yair’s 26th birthday!  Yippee!

I swear to you that we’re not really party animals, but…

At a party on Wednesday night we met a cool guy named Ross, who invited us to a party on Friday night where we met another cool guy named Dan. Then we met Ari at a cafe game night, and on Ari’s recommendation took Dan to a dance party on Sunday…

Stopping in the middle of that sequence, however, brings us to the Friday night party. The event was Gold Rush themed, with guests coming in 1850’s period-wear. Miners, justices, cowboys, saloon girls. Anything that you could think of. And the party was huge! In one large house were at least 100 people along with four live bands.

Coincidentally, it seemed as though more than half of the people we met were Jewish and we coming straight from Shabbat services. My favorite band of the night – hands down – was a klezmer group. We made some lasting friendships.
