What This Blog is About

8 02 2010

We are a young, married couple at the beginning of a unique and exciting journey in lifestyle design. At 24 years old, a reasonable amount of planning has made it possible that over the coming years we can do whatever we’d like (within reason) without any additional  income. Admittedly, it’s odd saying that in the current economic environment and we’re certainly not rich, but we’ve been prudent with our money and would have been ready in good times or bad.

While this isn’t a get-rich-quick site and our results aren’t easily replicable, we’ll definitely explain how we got where we are and how other people can do the same. We hope that this blog will inspire and encourage you to focus on and do what’s necessary to make the leap.

We’ll also use this blog as a space for keeping the world in the loop on what we’re up to and what’s next for us. In sum, it’s part journal, part inspiration, part thought-mash, and part advice. Take away whatever feels good to you. Our goal is that you enjoy the blog and get something great out of it. For more background information about us check out the FAQ.

Welcome to the the simple life! 🙂

We are very excited to come across a young, intelligent, and motivated couple that have figured out there is way more to life! We are young ourselves. But in our short amount of time in this world we have accomplished many things. We’ve had the big house (well actually houses), the “career”, the vehicles, and all the “stuff” that goes along with that type of lifestyle. It took a ton of hard work, dedication, faith, and planning but we finally made it out of the “rat race”. We have been living full time in our luxurious 5th wheel RV (they make trailer life pretty fancy these days) for a total of five years now. And we do all of this with children! A lot of people get really weird when we tell them that we travel with our kids. But we wouldn’t want them to grow up any other way. Hands on education and exposure to the world and all it has to offer sounds like the ultimate education and life experience to me!

I didn’t mean for this comment to become so lengthy! I just wanted to say hello and introduce ourselves to you. We are looking forward to following you on your amazing journey of life. We hope to be able to meet up with you at some point in time! 🙂

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out our blog! We are very excited to share our stories and experiences with the world! We hope to educate and motivate young people (or people of any age) to get out of the mundane life and start to live! I can see your blog is aiming for the same goal! What a wonderful treat to come across you two today. Have a fantastic day!

@Freely Living Life –

Hi, and welcome to the blog!

We’re just as excited to be reading your story. It’s great to see people in more “complicated” situations (kids!) living a life that excites them. Keep up the awesomeness, and you too have a fantastic day!

We’re totally enjoying the foot of snow that’s piling on NYC at the moment, particularly knowing that we don’t have to step outside unless we’re in the mood. I’m definitely beginning to experience the attractions of this life.
